Spring Brings Birds!

Eagles, Hawks and More!

I have been very busy with my Wooster Square Blossom Blog. But that doesn't mean I'm not out there shooting everything I see
(Digital, that is).

Cheryl and I wondered? Where are all the Hawks? We are members of the New Haven Bird Club and went to their annual dinner.

We all have noticed, and nobody knows why.

Although, I got a great shot of the Coopers Hawk that landed on my fence, you don't see
as many along the highways and byways.

Please enjoy and feel free to forward!

February 2016 Connecticut River Eagle Cruise!

Eagles Soar, Common Mergansers

and More

I don't want to sound like an ad, and I'm not a hired spokesperson, or play one on tv. But in Connecticut we have this BIG river, aptly called the Connecticut River. And, the fine folks at River Quest have a boat.

More like a river boat. Flat and able to go close(r)
to the shore than most boats, or their other boat.

Plus, Captain Mark and 1st Mate Mindy know the area, the sights and especially the birds!
And they are very nice people too.
They will be sure to point out all the local
charms, ecology, geology and even biology!
(Hey, they are birds)

So all you do is hand them a small amount of clams, then you get permission to board.

And you can bring anything you want to eat or drink.
(Yes, it has a head - bathroom)

And a view.
(during fall)

Usually you spot at least a dozen different eagles, usually a lot more. You may see just about any bird that migrates in Connecticut and beyond.

It's a blast for birders and leaf peepers,
river cruising and picnicking.

Everyone has a good time.

This will be the first of many of
Bart and Cheryl's Urban Birding Blogs
to the Connecticut River.

So many birds, so little time!

Too many words, let's see birds!
